LILYFIT team members and instructors aren’t just dedicated professionals at the peak of their powers. They’re people too, each with a story to tell…
I was brought up in a family where everything was made from scratch. From the homemade bread, to the jam on top, to the stuffing accompanying our traditional British Sunday lunch each weekend, my mum – Mrs R- made it all. In fact Mrs R’s cooking got so popular than my parents set up a health food bakery called Speciality Foods. Bearing in mind that this was in the 80’s when the healthy food ‘trend’ had not even peeked its head above the (organic) ground, my parents really were trailblazers in health at that time.
So yes, my upbringing was totally infused with food – from heated debates around the dinner table about the best method to make chicken stock to brainstorming ideas for new healthy flapjack flavours for Speciality Foods – food has always been a passion.
In 2013 I qualified as a Health and Nutrition Coach with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York – the largest nutrition school in the world and certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP). Having seen firsthand the distinct lack of support for female workplace warriors, I started up health coaching programs designed specifically for busy executive women working in corporate environments. You can find out more about these programs here.
As a 300+ hour, Yoga Alliance, certified Yoga Instructor, I organise regular Yoga Brunches and Retreats in Dubai.
Based between London and Dubai, in my time off you might find me wandering around my favourite markets; Ripe (Dubai) or Borough (London), reading my latest book on our beautiful beach here on the Palm Jumeirah, experimenting with and creating new recipes or snapping away on my camera.
